ABOUT THE POSITION: The City of Monterey is hiring two (2) full-time Senior Project Manager in our Public Works Department. One position is in the General Services Division and the other is in the Engineering Division. The Senior Project Manager for the General Services Division is responsible for managing building and facilities maintenance programs and capital improvements projects. The Senior Project Manager for the Engineering Division is responsible for managing municipal public works projects including street maintenance, traffic signals, storm drains, sanitary sewers, and marine structure projects. The Senior Project Manager position is a high-level position within the organization, requiring significant experience and expertise, where the individual is trusted to take ownership of their work, make decisions independently, and lead projects with little direct oversight from their manager. The Senior Project Manager is a supervisory position where the individual is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of engineers, project managers, and inspectors.
